SaxonAir raises over £10,000 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance

In early 2017 SaxonAir made the East Anglian Air Ambulance its chosen charity. Since then both staff and suppliers to the company have made a variety of donations to help support the local service.

In early 2017 SaxonAir provided a helicopter to fly the Royal guests of honour, their Royal Highnesses Prince and Princess Michael of Kent in for the Archdeacon’s Charge and Picnic, saving the charity £6,000. In the summer of 2017 they donated £3,000 towards events in the region, including taking a table at the prestigious Norfolk Polo event.

In an event sponsored by SaxonAir, ‘Only the Brave’, where teams complete a mud obstacle challenge, SaxonAir staff also took the opportunity to join in and got filthy whilst raising nearly £800 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance

Alex Durand, CEO of SaxonAir said:

‘I was delighted to see staff combining our company’s active approach to fitness and wellbeing with fundraising for our chosen charity. I’ve great respect for anyone who dedicates themselves to training and participating in such events, especially when it’s in aid of such a good cause.’

To continue this fundraising activity in 2018, Willis Towers Watson, a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company undertook a gap analysis for SaxonAir and instead of receiving payment, requested their fee be donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Alex Durand again:

‘We really value our supplier relationships and have worked hard to develop a network of companies who understand our business and company ethos. This donation from Willis Towers Watson really demonstrated how worthwhile it is to seek out the right businesses to collaborate with who share those values. We were over the moon with the generosity shown by Willis Towers Watson’

This summer SaxonAir supported the East Anglian Air Ambulance with their campaign to better train individuals in first-aid skills to create more first responders. SaxonAir provided the venue for a number of training sessions for the basic first-aid courses.

SaxonAir’s total support of the charity amounts to over £10,000 over the past 12 months and there is no plan to stop there.

Alex Durand said of their plans:

‘The company will continue to support the East Anglian Air Ambulance as fellow tenants of the airport, and as part of the local aviation community this is a charity close to our hearts.’
